Madison's Little Secret

Happy Thanksgiving! We hope you all had a nice and safe turkey day. With Jon's crazy work schedule, we were unable to attend a few family functions in Sacramento. So we stayed home and my mom, sister and 4 brothers came to visit. It was very nice to visit with all my family. Madison was very excited to see everyone and she enjoys playing with my 8 year old brother, Joseph. As for Maddie, she's been the usual active 2 year old who is learning so much everyday. She is doing a lot better with her potting training. She goes most of the time by herself but still has some accidents. I'm very proud of her because she now takes the time to go when she is occupied with something so she's on the road to success. I guess we had to run on Maddie's time and potty train when she was ready. She is doing a great job recognizing her ABC's and can write a few letters in her name. Oh, and she is exercising the word: "WHY?". That's enough to drive someone crazy but at the same time it doesn't bother me because she is so curious and wants to know about things and their purposes all the time, which shows me that her learning skills are enhancing. She is a sharp cookie and Jon and I are very proud of her. Madison likes to tell secrets, too. Below is a little clip of her new secret. Check it out.

Yes, you heard our sweetheart correctly- WE'RE HAVING ANOTHER BABY!!!!!!!!! We're very excited. Baby Lujan #2 is due July 15, 2009. We're going to have another July baby. Madison's birthday is July 9.I have to admit that when I found out, I cried and was in denial. Jon and I agreed that we wanted another baby since Madison is just about 2 1/2 but when I found out, it hit me harder than I thought. As for Jon, he was bouncing off the walls. I had this crazy theory that I would not be able to love another child the way I LOVE and ADORE Madison. She has fulfilled my life in so many ways in every which way possible. She makes me laugh, cry, mad,....etc. She has brought so much to my life and I learn from her everyday. She is my life-- she is my EVERYTHING!!!! But with Jon's support, I came to realize that my heart will only grow bigger. We explained the baby to Madison and so far she's okay with it. She said she wants to hold and feed the baby. She was a little confused about the baby being in my tummy. A few months ago, she was looking at the ultrasound video of her and Jon explained to her that she was in my tummy. One day, she said: "Mommy, I be thinking" and when I asked her what she was thinking, she said she wanted to get in my tummy. I started to laugh and told her that was impossible. Anyways, I know she's going to be an awesome big sister or as she puts it, the little sister because she's a little girl. So that's what's new and exciting for us. We'll keep you all posted and updated on our exciting baby adventure.

The Lujan House

Finally, I have the time to post some pictures of our new house. We moved in a month ago and as bad as it sounds, we're still trying to get it together. There's just not enough time in the day for us. When I get home from work, I just want to spend every second with Madison and Jon and not have to worry about the fixing the house. But it's surely not going to fix itself. We are renting at the moment but it's sure nice to have our own place. Our house is 3 bedrooms and 1.5 bath. We've had a few visitors already: my family and Auntie. It's so nice because we have so much space to fit all our company. Below are some pictures of the house.

Here's the front of our house and as you can tell, we have to put some TLC into our grass. There's also space to put a patio swing or a little table set in front of the right window.
Madzilla has a new hiding spot- the dryer. Since we explained that it's not safe to hide in there, she has found new spots in the many closets that we have here. I had asked her to show me how she gets in and she was so proud of herself. She lies on her tummy and gets in feet first. Then, I asked why she uses that way to get in and she said because she hit her head the first time. I asked Jon if he taught her that but he had no idea she was hiding in the dryer. So I assumed she went in head first the first time. She's quite clever and boy does she make me laugh!!!!
Here's our AWESOME living room. This is my favorite room in the house. We have filled it with furniture and a lot of pictures. It's huge with high ceiling arches and a lot of windows. These picture do no justice for this living room.
Here's another angle of our living room. Our dining table is near those french doors. I really like all the shelf space because I have space for all my pictures,...etc. On the other side of that wall is a corner hutch with 4 tiers and 2 glass doors, which is really nice. I have a few collectible things that I want to put in there.
I couldn't get a good angle of Maddie's room. But she sure does have the best room in the house and it's perfect for her. She has 4 doors in her room: 1 leads to her bathroom, the kitchen, the hallway and of course, her closet. She has a nice walk in closet which also has hooks all around it to hang up her coats,..etc. It reminds me of my kindergarten classroom closet. It also has tri-level shelving space for her shoes and other belongings. There's also a lot of built in shelving on one side of her wall, which we made into her library.
Here's Madison's bathroom. The other bathroom door leads to our laundry room. I still have to decorate her bathroom once she decides what theme she wants. If it was up to her, she would have Elmo, Cinderella and Tinkerbell all in one. As for my other bathroom, well, we as a family are not sure how to decorate it. Jon has his Raider towels, Maddie has her Elmo bathmat and toys in there and I want something pretty and girly. We obviously don't know the meaning of the word: COMPROMISE!
The next 2 pictures are the kitchen. It's pretty plain looking- for now. But I like all the space and cupboard space. It also has a swinging door that leads to the dining area.

Finally, this is our backyard. We have no garage but we have a basement. The grass back there needs TLC, too. The house was built in 1926 but it was kept up pretty well. We had a choice of this house and a house built 30 years ago but there was something about this house that Jon and I really liked. We had to do a lot of cleaning because the tenants before us were NOT clean at all. But it all worked out. Overall, we LOVE the house. We do need to work on a few things but nothing too major. I'm sorry if I bored you all with our house. You all will have to come visit us.

Yo ho, Yo ho, A Pirates Life for Me

You guessed it- we had a cute little buccaneer pirate girl this year. We had a great time trick or treating. We went trunk-o-treating and ate hot dogs, then we went to a couple of houses and ended up at my friend, Diane's house. The weather was nice, too. I was a little bummed because Jon and I were suppose to get dress up as pirates, which we planned months ago but with our move and crazy work schedules, we never ended up getting our costumes. So we'll try it again next year.

Here's Madison with her buddy, Miles. They also went to the pumpkin patch together a few weeks ago. At this point, she lost interest in her hat and belt. By the end of the night, she only had half of her costume on. Jon stresses about her playing with a boy and it's soooo funny because I can only imagine how he's going to be when she gets older. Ahhhh!!!!
Maddie standing in front her pumpkin she painted. We hope everyone had a fun and safe Halloween.

Our Little Pumpkin

We're back! Jon, Maddie and I have been sooooo busy. We moved into our new home (I'll post pics soon) 3 weeks ago and we're still trying to get settled in. We're renting at this time but it's something we can call our own. I can't believe it's Halloween already. Time sure does fly. Auntie Maxine came to visit us a couple of weeks ago and we took Madison to the pumpkin patch. We all had such a good time. Grandma Ruthann is having a kids pumpkin decorating contest at work and Maddie did an awesome job decorating her pumpkin. With mommy's help, we added a few other touches to this project. Below are a few pictures of my sweet little girl. She just melts my heart!!!

Maddie had so much fun doing this craft. For the most part, the graveyard kit was kid friendly with the exception of having to glue a few things. She sure did an awesome job!!!

We also did a haunted house made of ginger bread. She most definitely enjoyed licking the frosting and eating some of the candies that were meant to go on the house. I also suggested to Ruthann and Jon not to eat any candy off that house because Madison licked every piece of candy right before she put it on the house. I know- gross! But I wasn't going to tell her otherwise because it was her house and she she was able to do whatever she wanted.

Madison is decorating her pumpkin.

Here's Madison painting a pumpkin which is hanging on our front door. She is so proud of her pumpkin.

Our little sweetheart loves to ride horses.

After her pony rides, she began to show interest in the pumpkins. We also went through a corn maze, which she liked better that I thought she would.

Grandma Ruthann and Madison holding her perfect round pumpkin she picked all by herself. She also picked a nice big round pumpkin.

We ended up leaving the pumpkin patch with 3 pumpkins that Jon and I still have to carve before Friday. I'm not very good at carving but Jon on the other hand does a terrific job. We hope everyone has a fun and safe Halloween! My next post will be about our new house.

"Got Em' Coach" and "Atta Boy" !

Well football fans, it's that time again. I can personally do without seeing footbal but my family cannot especially when the Raiders are playing. I'm sad to report that Jon has recruited our sweet little girl and she is now a Raider fan. It's really funny to see her watch the game. It's really cute to see Jon explain the game to Madison and she actually sits there and pays attention. When a player tackles another player, Maddie yells out "Got em' coach" or when a player is running with the ball ready to make a touchdown, she screams with excitement, "Atta Boy"! I love to see her watch the game. She is so hilarious and cracks me up. We'll have to post a video of her watching the game. She's such a cutie pie. Below are a couple of pictures of my Raider Nation Family.

Here's my cute little Raiderette.

Awww- how cute. Jon absolutely ADORES and LOVES out little girl. He is such an awesome daddy not to mention a wonderful husband. Maddie and I are very lucky to have Jon in our lives.

My 2 most favorite people with their game faces on.

I just love these guys. I hope everyone is well and you enjoyed the pictures.

Maddie's Bummed Out Week

We've had a long and tiring week. Last week we took Madison to Wild Water Adventures Park in Clovis. We told her 2 days in advance and she was extremely excited! Everytime she was asked where she was going, she would yell out in excitement: "The Water park". She was so excited. It was no Hurricane Harbor but we all had a good time and a nice picnic especially Maddie. Our only issue we had were the 95% percent of children of children who were unattended. Due to this issue, a big kid fell into Maddie which resulted in a black eye. As bad as it sounds, I wanted to ring the kid's neck but then realized like a real adult that it's not his fault- it's his parents fault for not teaching him how to behave. So Maddie and a few other kids got a little banged up by this one kid. Jon and I watch Madison like a hawk so I guess I will NEVER understand how parents don't take care of their wild and unmannered kids. I'm not saying anymore because the blog will never end. What can you say, it is what it is and we can't change how others care for their children. I'm glad Madison has manners and exercises them. Also, Madison's been sick all week with a cold and her asthma. We've had sleepless nights all week. Hopefully, we'll be able to sleep good tonight. I feel so bad for her when she's sick because I can't take away her constant cough, fever, wheezing,...etc. But I'm pretty good at comforting her. I've been seeing a lot of smiles and hearing laughter today so that's a good sign.

Madison baked caramel brownies today with Grandma and here she is eating the beaters.
Here's my poor little black eyed pea. I feel so bad for her but it doesn't seem to bother her. I hope it goes away soon.

Madison is going down one of her favorite water slides. She spent a lot of time in that particular area. It was kind of hard to take a lot of pictures or use the camcorder because of all the kids splashing and there were misters everywhere.

Madison loves to be outside. She enjoys riding her bike, scooter, playing soccer and basketball. This weekend, I bought art supplies for her. I'm trying to think of fun things for us to do inside being that winter is approaching and she will not be able to go outside. She was excited about her new paints, brushes,..etc. We're going to paint a picture when she feels better. I'm also going to go to Michaels to see what crafts I can get my hands on. I hope you all have a nice and blessed week.

Scooter

Madison got a scooter for her birthday from my sister, Victoria. At first, I thought she would be too young for it but she does a good job at riding it. She knew what to do with that scooter the second we put her on. It took her longer to learn to ride her tricycle. She doesn't give a fuss about her helmet but she doesn't care too much for her pads. I'm so proud of her and her accomplishments. It was not too long ago that we put her in a walker to learn to walk and now we find ourselves teaching her to ride a scooter. Our sweetheart is growing too fast. It makes me said but extremely happy at the same time. She is at such a fun age right now. She teaches me something new everyday. Every action, word, gesture,.... is PRICELESS! Her vocabulary is increasing which is awesome and I love the fact that I can carry a nice conversation with her. She says the funniest things. What can I say- she's a pretty sharp girl. Jon and I are blessed to have Madison in our lives and we absolutely adore her. Below are a couple of pictures of Maddie riding her scooter.

Happy Birthday Jon & Madison

We've had so many things going on and I feel awful about not blogging about Jon and Madison's birthday. Our sweet little pride and joy turned 2 on July 9 and Jon turned 27 on August 6. For some reason, I had trouble downloading Maddie's birthday pictures but I was able to post 2. She had 3 birthday cakes this year which made her very happy because she LOVES cake. She had Abby Cadabby, Princess and Tinkerbell cakes/cupcakes. She had a Tinkerbell jumper and had alot of fun playing with her cousins. She got sooo many nice gifts which included clothes, toys, arts & crafts, Nike soccer ball, wall hanging/portraits for her room,...etc. Being that she had 3 birthday parties, we have no room for her new stuff. But it was nice, fun and exhausting. Madison had a blast and when we asked what she enjoyed the most about her birthday, her eyes lit up and she said: "My cake." We can't believe that our sweet girl is 2 years old. She is such an amazing person and has brought so much JOY to our lives. Madison fulfills our hearts in every way.

Maddie helped Daddy blow out all his birthday candles. We went to dinner at Claim Jumpers and Ruth Ann made him a German Chocolate Cake. Jon said the best part of his birthday was hearing Maddie sing him 'Happy Birthday'.

Sorry everyone- I forgot to rotate this picture. Maddie got Daddy a Raiders jersey.

Madison playing in her jumper the next morning after her party. We got to keep the jumper for over 24 hours. She had so much fun!!!

Here's Maddie getting ready to whack her pinata. She really liked hitting it but we had a little problem because she didn't want to let the other kids have a chance. Yes, we're still having a bit of a sharing problem. Overall, she and Jon had great birthdays and we're glad our families were able to share these special days with us.

Family Reunion

Madison's Birthday Party In Logan Utah
